thank you Shailen

I am here to thank someone who helped me in creating my hindi blog.

Well long time back when i was new to blogging did not know much about HTML (not that i know anything now) still at that time was seeing lot of blogs with jazzy stuff, and liked a thing in a particular case. it was , you have some text appearing on the main page and then a link to read the full post if you are interested. i wrote to the person who had that blog created asking him how to do that. he wrote a long mail back telling me that he had broken his head to crack this thing, searched and researched a lot and after a lot of hardwork could manage it, so how can he pass the information to me so easy, why should it come easy to me when he had slogged so much for it.....well i did not get help him, and went ahead and read help etc and got the solution myself.

i was also looking for another thing for a long time...ie how to post stuff in hindi, and came across this guy called Shailen who had some stuff in hindi on his blog. i happened to ping him on his yahoo, and he not only gave me the solution, but also hand holded me step by step.man instantly i got the memories of this other guy back who was unwilling to let out the information, and here is this guy who is not only giving me the solution, but guiding me step by step on chat....

so this post is just to thank shailen for helping me creat my hindi blog....and any one who comes across this post do click on to the following link to have a look at shailen's blog...

he has done cool stuff up there...

well thanks man, if i have my hindi blog up it is all because of u....

damn these govt offices

i had been to passport office today, it was a name change business i had to do. since yesterday had been preparing for this (looked like i was going for an exam). prepared the file perfectly, and reached there 15 minutes after the office opens ie 9:45 AM. stood in a long queue that went in circles and reached the main gate. the process was that this queue was leading to a room, where tokens were distributed, one waits with the tokens in the room and when turn comes you go to the window and submit what ever you are there for.

i was in the circled line for about 2 hours and reached very close to the door, when this security guy announced that the days time was over and we all had to come the next day. well they stop distributing tockens at 12:00...wondering where we had gone wrong we started talking to the other fellow sufferers. today was my first day, but there was this guy , who had been turned back like this three times. there was a mother with her 8 month old daughter who was almost in tears waiting for 2 hours and not getting to get the work done.

we were informed that in a day they have capacity to process only 180 to 190 cases. so my question would be why do they let a queue form of about 400 people knowing that half of them will be turned back.

this it seems is a daily issue, so why cant they just increase the number of people at task at the counter, it helps us the customer and also gives employment to few more people... why are the authorities sleeping?

may be because they know we have no where else to go, it is not like if you do not like your mobile service you move to another one or change your bank if you are not happy. they know for a fact that we have no where else to go and will come back to them. and rightly said...that is the exact reason i will be there tomorrow morning once again, but this time sharp at 8:30 , and just to let you know, i will surely not be the first person to reach there, as the queue starts forming around 6:30 - 7:00 AM waiting for the gates to open at 9:30...

so all i can say is God help me and hope my work is done tomorrow, their philosophy is: "it is ur work so come and stand for hours in hot sun, we are the govt - the power, it is our right to screw you the way we want...and so we do..."

does ass licking take you places?

this friend of mine does not belive in licking bosses ass, he is kind of an introvert, talks when needed, does his work (dedicatedly) and comes back home. does not believe in messing around with people, basically minds his own business.

i keep telling him to improve on his social skills, but he is the way he is. it will take a total personality change for him to go mingle with people without purpose..he is just not manufactured that way.

he and another dude in is work had joined together (one of the top 5 companies world wide).my friend is a well polished, sophisicated one, and the other one is kind of a mess (i have met him so can say so), so he surely will not have problem licking any ass and may be what ever else is required to be licked.

my friend had been working his butt off (he is working on a very complex project), and cracked a some cool stuff (silently), and the other dude though worked on some simple projects(this is known in the team that his projects are no rocket science), talks a lot about the work he does....

today some bigshot had come from US and gave an award to this other dude saying he has come up the pace quickly, while this friend of mine kept breaking his head with the complexities

is this fair? i keep telling him that it need not be ass licking but be vocal and talk about the stuff you .

gone are the days when your seniors would look at the silent hardworking guy and acknowledge his contribution. it is all about how well you can package the work you have done to the management and take the credit for all what u have done (also for what you have not done... )if u have done a simple task such as switching on ignition of a car, portray it as the engine was dead and you did the overhauling and made it work....uff it sucks...

i am really feeling bad my friend and hope he changes a bit, be more vocal about his work, no i do not mean exaggerate, but just talk about what he has done...more than that i hope that the managers and management changes the way they look and think, and finds out the way to identify some genuine guys around....

I'm bored of living

Yeah I know sounds strange. But we had many holidays in Bangalore lately, as the kannada super hero rajkumar died, not only we had an off but also we were forced to be indoors, then a good friday and a weekend. I hate to be home doing nothing. Four days in a row, doing nothing and locked at home, surfing, TV and a bit of shopping, I feel like a waste. I remember when I went through this trip for the first time, it was after my 10th Boards, did nothing but ate, slept, watched TV and ate some more. I have similar feeling now, being usless, sitting home, just killing time, somehow I feel guitly living like this of not being of any use...no i do not mean social service here, it is just the feeling of idleness....so I was telling my husband that I am bored of living, what are we doing living and repeating same things everyday, breathing, eating, loo, bursh, bathe, TV , shop, walk (put this into a loop) and of all this again....aren't u bored of just living???

I hope I am out of this trip soon, may be Monday will cheer me up,and surely i will be waiting for a weekend then.... :)
